~With Tomoko Nakazato

Tuition: $135

Level: Beginners - Intermediate

This class is designed for students who were previously enrolled in Exploration in Ceramics, Taking a Next Step in Ceramics, or Mastering the Wheel, providing four extra sessions with the instructor. Students will also experiment withvarious surface decoration techniques such as stenciling, tracing and scraffito. Nakazoto creates animated ceramic sculptures influenced by pop culture, yet pays homage to figurative ceramic traditions, reflecting her cultural heritages and social conditions. She uses both throwing and hand-building techniques to swiftly process her ideas, leading to a freshness in her work while preserving the expressive nature of the clay.
