Your contribution will support the many programs for individuals of all ages and abilities offered at the Donkey Mill Art Center. We are undertaking an expansion program of our facilities to be able to accommodate additional printmakers; offer more children's programs; expand our ceramics studio; and provide housing to visiting artists as well as adding new classes in woodworking, sculpture, metal, glass, jewelry, fiber arts, film, photography and performing arts. We are also planning to accommodate additional parking and sculpture gardens. Become a member of our ohana for an Arts & Culturally Rich Community as we continue to carry out our mission by bringing in like minded individuals willing to support and help us meet our goals along the way. There is still more work to be done. We invite you to become a member of our ohana and to let our community know that you are a believer in our mission and vision!
We appreciate your support very much.

| ACADEMIC SUCCESS THROUGH ART |
Every few weeks West Hawaii Today newspaper describes schools facing the challenge of meeting reading and math standards of the "No Child Left Behind" program. We believe that academic success can be attained through art education that involves children in critical thinking and problem solving. National statistics and local experiences support our belief. A 1996 nationwide survey by the National Cultural Alliance, revealed that 87% believe the arts instill concentration and discipline, and 92% believe the arts help in the overall intellectual development of children. Our experiences include a partnership with Holualoa Elementary School in 2003-2004 when grant funds helped us offer Cultural Drumming to A+ students and Spring Art Experiences after school. In this current school year, we are team teaching with classroom teachers to offer Art Experiences to all first grade children for two hours each week during the school day. Who are We? The Holualoa Foundation for Arts and Culture is a 501c3 not-for-profit art education based, volunteer organization that believes that art education enriches the lives of persons of all ages and abilities. What is the Challenge? Public schools lack funding, and grant funds do not continue in perpetuity. HFAC members and friends contribute volunteer hours and financial support. However, reaching public school children requires much more. The ASA (Academic Success Through Art) program will bind students, teachers, parents and artists together to help students attain academic success. How Can You Help? We are asking you to participate in ASA to ensure that No Child Will Be Left Behind.
