Celebrating over 17 years of providing high quality art education to our youth, the Donkey Mill Art Center is proud to present our Annual Summer Art Experience 2013.
Through the Art Center's founding philosophy, which focuses on the concept of self as an extension of human relationships that lead into family, community, and the universe, students will explore the essential beauty of art making. With these ideas in mind, basic art techniques are taught to be used as a tool to promote 'waves' of positive change and awareness. Various artistic mediums will be explored including drawing, painting, printing, design, ceramics, papermaking, music, poetry and dance. We will culminate the program with a performance and gallery showing.
*Weekly sessions are available, but we recommend parents to sign up for the full 5 week program as our lessons are designed to scaffold in technique and philosophy.
Mahalo nui loa to the Sate Foundation on Culture and the Arts who through the Hawaii State Legislature and National Endowment for the Arts, is providing partial funding for our children's programs. The Art Education for Children and Youth program is designed to help students use art as a tool for discovering one's self and finding meaning in life; understanding relationships with others and solving problems using critical thinking skills.
